The Swans room caters for children aged 3 to 5 years.

Staff: One Room Leader, Two Early Years Educators.

Maximum children in the room: 22.

Adult/Child Ratio: 1:11 (ECCE Scheme)
1:8 (Full Daycare).

Here in The Swans, we realise the importance of the preschool year as it begins the child on a journey for the move to "big school" the following year. 

The Swans preschool session runs in the morning time for a period of three hours which includes free play, small group time, large group time and outside play.  We work off of the children's own interests and incorporate activities that will help support and promote all areas of development.

At this age, we place a big emphasis on promoting independence and teaching your child important life skills - from simple things like hanging up their coats, to an introduction to handwriting. 

From our experience, this helps develop confidence as does giving the children "jobs" which they love.  Jobs may include giving out cups, forks etc at meal times or collecting/returning items to other rooms. 

We believe that giving these opportunities to the children allows them to show just how capable they really are. 

The staff in The Swans strive to provide a warm, stimulating environment for the children.  It is in our best interest to prepare your child as best we can for their "big school" adventure!
